Congress will vote on JFK's 1st Civil Rights bill

If you’re black, living in the south, you can’t vote. The law says you can, but good luck. Those white folks have sneaky ways. They charge black voters special taxes, and make them take literacy tests. If only black southerners could vote, they’d probably change all that. JFK will try to help. He’s sending a Voting Rights bill to Congress. Think they’ll vote for it?
