The earth, the sea, and the air are the concern of every nation

The effort to improve the conditions of man, however, is not a task for the few. It is the task of all nations-acting alone, acting in groups, acting in the United Nations, for plague and pestilence, and plunder and pollution, the hazards of nature, and the hunger of children are the foes of every nation. The earth, the sea, and the air are the concern of every nation. And science, technology, and education can be the ally of every nation.

The primary reason for my trip was conservation. And I include in conservation first our human resources and then our natural resources.

Unless we set them aside, it will be too late

And unless we now, before it’s too late, take these areas of the country which offer the maximum for recreation for all of our people, unless we set them aside now, it will be too late...there isn’t very much that you can do today that will materially alter your life in the next three or four years in the field of conservation, but you can build for the future...
